The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals who illegally entered India with the help of human traffickers.

The Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended from West Bengal's Nadia district, the BSF informed.

In a statement to the media, the BSF informed that acting on specific information from villagers of Gajna, personnel of BSF's Eighth Battalion deployed at Border Outpost in Mahendra area in Nadia caught the Bangladeshis.

Among the seven include two women and a three-year-old child.

The Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at around 11.30 am from the Gajna-Tarakpur road where they were waiting for a vehicle.

The Bangladeshi nationals could not provide any valid Indian documents when the BSF asked them to identify themselves.

On preliminary questioning, the Bangladeshi nationals revealed that they crossed over to India on Tuesday night from an unfenced patch.

The seven Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Sakil Seikh (30), Md. Rahim (23), Sumi Aktar (22), Parul Akhtar (26), Koli Begum (24), Champa Begum (26), and Yeasin Seikh (3).

The BSF, moreover, recovered a total amount of 2,106 Bangladeshi Taka from them.

During questioning, the BSF officials learnt that two women were going to Hyderabad and the rest were moving to Chennai for labour work.

The apprehended Bangladeshi nations, during the investigation, revealed that the women were going to Hyderabad and the men were going to Chennai.

They further revealed that the women had already had worked in a house near Secunderabad Bus stand as babysitters.

The men, on the other hand, were to meet a person named Iliyas, who had arranged labour work for them there.

From Bangladesh, the main touts who sent these Bangladeshi nationals to India were identified as Kaliq and Kitab Ali Shikdar.

"The money for their boarding and lodging was arranged by Barangal, a resident of Secunderabad, and Iliyas of Chennai, and transferred into the account of Jahanara Bibi Mandal, wife of Shaukat Ali Mondal," the BSF informed.

"The bank authorities are being approached for details of the transaction," the BSF said.

All the seven Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the West Bengal Police.
