COVID-19: Three Manipur Districts Records 100% Recovery Rate

Three districts in Manipur- Noney, Pherzawl, and Tengnoupal- have recorded 100 per cent COVID-19 recovery rate on Monday, officials said.

"The recovery rates in the districts of Noney, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal have reached 100 per cent,| Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the additional director and spokesperson of the health department, said in a press release on Monday night.

According to Dr Sasheekumar's release, 14 new cases were reported in the state on Monday and thee were confirmed by the Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratories of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS-4) and district hospitals of Thoubal.

"They belong to the districts of Imphal West (1), Kamjong (1) and Thoubal (12)," the release added quoting the doctor.

According to the release, 10 people, including a technician working at RIMS belonging to Thoubal district, do not have travel history and rest are returnees from other states.

The infected were shifted to COVID care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

It is worth mentioning here that the overall COVID-19 recovery rate of Manipur stands at 68.68 per cent.

Meanwhile, state Chief Minister N Biren Singh congratulated the medical team for achieving the 100 per cent recovery rate in these districts.

"I congratulate each and every frontline warriors of Noney, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal District of Manipur on achieving 100 per cent recovery rate of COVID-19 patients today," Singh said in a tweet.

"The state government’s resolve and commitment towards fighting the COVID-19 pandemic have begun to pay off," he added.

On Tuesday, 90 cases were reported in Manipur and the state's tally rose to 2,015.

Manipur presently has 631 active cases and 1384 persons have recovered so far.

The newly infected patients are from Imphal East, Imphal West, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Kakching, Tengnoupal and Thoubal.

The patients have been shifted to the COVID care facilities and proper medical attention is being provided to each one of them.
