International Family Day: History And Significance

International Family Day is celebrated globally on May 15 every year.  The day spreads awareness about the importance of families and the role of the international community in the development of families.

Now a question must be arising in the mind of all of you what is the reason behind celebrating this day and when was it celebrated for the first time?

The first International Family Day was celebrated in 1993 when the United Nations passed a resolution to encourage better living standards around the world.

In 1994, it officially declared it as International Day of Families to recognize the change in social structure.

Later, a conference was held in Beijing and Copenhagen to propose a worldwide initiative to ensure family welfare.

The idea behind celebrating this day is that despite being separated, there is unity in the family. People in the family show solidarity and love even when they are angry with each other. With family, we never feel lonely.

International Family Day 2022 Theme

The theme of International Family 2022 is 'Family and Urbanisation'.  This means how to find time for your family in the midst of this increasing urbanization.  In the midst of this busy lifestyle, we must take out time for our family.

Celebration In India

International Family Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in India.

On this day, seminars and workshops are organized across the country to raise awareness of various family issues and to understand the importance of families.

Different social organizations in the country organize programs in many cities to describe the importance of family.
