Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday, April 10, witnessed an exhibition rugby match in Srinagar, which was played at the famous TRC Turf Ground of the city.
The rugby match in Srinagar lasted for half-an-hour and top Indian rugby players participated in the match along with the locals.
Apart from the rugby match, an exhibition football match was also played on the ground which lasted for 15 minutes.
Both the matches were organised by J&K Sports Council in which players from different parts of the country participated.
The football exhibition match included former players who were divided into two teams named after Kiren Rijiju and Advisor to Lt Governor Farooq Khan.
In a tweet, Rijiju on April 12 said, "Look at the memorable Rugby and Football games at Srinagar."
"It was very satisfying for me as top Rugby players of India mixed up with the Jammu and Kashmir local players for the exhibition match," he further said.
"The veteran Footballers also displayed great Football game!" he added.
