NFR To Restore Services Of Three Trains

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to restore the services of three trains from this month to fulfil the demand of short-distance travellers, an official release said.

It includes the Silchar–Dullabcherra passenger special, which will be restored as a bi-weekly with new timings, while the two others are the New Jalpaiguri–Haldibari passenger special and the New Jalpaiguri–Malda Town express.

Train No. 05688 Silchar-Dullabcherra passenger special will run every Monday and Wednesday from January 31, 2022, leaving Silchar at 5:30 pm and reaching Dullabcherra at 9:30 PM.

In the return direction, train No. 05687 Dullabcherra–Silchar passenger special will run every Tuesday and Thursday from February 1, 2022, leaving Dullabcherra at 5:30 AM and reaching Silchar at 9:40 AM.

Train No. 05751/05750 New Jalpaiguri-Haldibari-New Jalpaiguri daily passenger special will run from January 31 and will leave New Jalpaiguri at 2:45 PM to reach Haldibari at 4:25 PM. On its return journey, the train will leave Haldibari at 11:45 AM and reach New Jalpaiguri at 1:45 PM.

Train No. 15710/15709 New Jalpaiguri – Malda Town – New Jalpaiguri express will run daily from January 31, 2022, leaving New Jalpaiguri at 7 AM to reach Malda Town at 12:05 PM. From Malda, it will leave at 5 PM and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10 PM.

The details of the timings of the train are available on the IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NFR, the release said.

Meanwhile, the release from NFR Chief Public Relations Officer also informed that in view of poor bookings due to winter weather and COVID-19 related restrictions, services of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) train No. 52591/52596/52598 will remain cancelled from January 23-28 and train No. 52545/52546/52542 will remain cancelled from January 29 to February 27.
