Portrait Of Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary Triggers Meme Wave On Social Media
A portrait gifted to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary by a Patna-based builder has unexpectedly become the subject of widespread discussion online, with social media users flooding platforms with memes and jokes about the artwork.
The sketch, reportedly presented by builder Sanjeev Shrivastav during a meeting with the chief minister, began circulating after photographs from the event were shared online.
What drew attention was not the meeting itself, but the portrait, which many users felt bore only a loose resemblance to Choudhary.
The black-and-white sketch featured exaggerated facial details, including enlarged eyes, a prominent forehead and heavily emphasised features.
Within hours, screenshots of the image began spreading across X, Instagram and Facebook, prompting a wave of humorous reactions.
Many users compared the artwork to the fictional “Majnu Bhai painting” from the Bollywood comedy Welcome, a pop culture reference often used online to mock amateur artwork.
Others jokingly referred to the creator as the “Picasso of Bihar” and the “Van Gogh of Bihar”, while some praised the confidence with which the portrait was presented.
One user remarked that the artist deserved recognition for presenting the sketch with complete confidence, while another joked that even the famous “Majnu Bhai” painting had found competition.
Several others questioned whether the portrait was intended as a caricature rather than a realistic sketch.
According to reports, Shrivastav had shared photographs from his meeting with the chief minister on social media.
The posts later attracted significant attention as screenshots of the portrait began circulating widely.
The identity of the artist behind the sketch remains unclear.
While the reactions were largely humorous, the episode once again highlighted how quickly seemingly ordinary political photographs can turn into viral internet content.
In this case, a routine courtesy meeting and a gifted portrait ended up generating far more attention online than the event itself.
Neither the chief minister nor the builder has publicly commented on the social media reactions so far.
