Marking the 20 years of service of the 'Smile Train in India, a on the spot painting competition was organised in Imphal on Sunday (April 28, 2019).
Students from Class III to Class VII from various schools of the city took part in the competition.
In conversation with the media, a member from the organising committee informed that in its 20 years of existence, 'Smile Train has successfully carried off 5 lakhs surgeries across the country.

"Making the occasion more so special, a rally will be taken out on May 1 from Kangla to THAU ground. This will be followed by a presentation of skits on May 2. Manipur governor will also grace the programme on May 2 evening," the organising member further added.
He further informed that the underlying theme of all the activities will focus on creating awareness regarding Smile Train and to impart a message that any person can live a normal life after cleft surgery.
It may be mentioned here that ‘Smile Train’ is an international children’s charity that supports 100 per cent free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care for children globally.
