Statehood Day Of Manipur, Meghalaya And Tripura; Wishes Pour In

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several leaders wished the people of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura on their 48th Statehood Day on Tuesday.

The three states on January 21, 1972, became full-fledged states under the North Eastern Region (Reorganisation) Act, 1971.

"On Manipur's Statehood Day, my greetings to the people of the wonderful state. Manipur is known for its vibrant culture," PM Modi tweeted.

"People from Manipur have made a mark in various fields. May the state keep progressing in the years ahead," he added.

The Prime Minister also praised the people of Meghalaya on its statehood day on Tuesaday.

In a tweet, the PM said, "The people of Meghalaya are known for their kind and compassionate nature."

"From sports, music to conservation of nature, there is much to learn from them. Praying for Meghalaya's development in the coming years," he added.

In another tweet, greeting the people of Tripura, Modi tweeted, "Greeting the people of Tripura. Its people are known for their industrious nature."

"I pray for the continued prosperity and well-being of Tripura's citizens," he said.

Thanking PM Modi Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb tweeted, "We the 37 lakh people of Tripura are always with you in the journey of making our Nation a New India."

"We are glad and thankful to you for your continuous support and love for Tripura," he wrote.

Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma in a tweet said, "Today marks the 48th #Statehood day of #Meghalaya."

"We are committed more than ever to uphold the vision of our leaders who stood united in the #HillStateMovement for the future of our State and its people. We stand committed to fulfill that vision till today. Happy Meghalaya Day," he added.

In a tweet, President Ram Nath Kovind said, "Greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on Statehood Day. My best wishes to all the residents of these beautiful states for a bright and prosperous future."

In his reply to the President's tweet, Sangma wrote, "Thank you, Hon’ble President, of India. I also extend our greetings to Tripura and Manipur on the Statehood day."

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in a tweet said, "Greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of 48th Statehood Day."

"Easy living of the people in a society is a sign of good governance and our Government will do everything possible to bring a self-sustained and easy livelihood to the people of the State," he wrote.

In a tweet, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal greetd the people on Tripura on the occasion of 48th Statehood Day of the state.

"Wishing the people of #Tripura on their Statehood Day. Known for its large forests and beautiful handicraft products, I believe the state will continue to prosper and progress under the dynamic leadership of CM Shri @BjpBiplab," Sonowal tweeted.

Wishing the people of the three states, Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio wrote, "Greetings to the people of #Meghalaya, #Tripura and #Manipur on their Statehood Day. My best wishes for good health and well-being of the people. May the states go from strength to strength."
