Umran Malik made his place in the list of top 5 bowlers in IPL 2022 with 22 wickets, which he took while playing for Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH).
With a best of 5/25 against Gujarat Titans, it became a good enough victory for the player.
This milestone impressed the national selection committee so much that they have made a way for the player into team India for the five-match T20 series against South Africa that begins on June 9, 2022.
As India is headed for the tournament, the team has made a few changes and fixed several things. KL Rahul has been announced as the skipper for the team, and Rishabh Pant has been made the Vice-Captain.
Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Kartik are also back in the team. And, along with this, the team has welcomed Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik as part of playing 11 for the first time.
Umran Malik took to Twitter to celebrate his entry into the team as he wrote “Finally get selected for #TeamIndia .”

The 22-year-old player from Jammu & Kashmir has played a lot of different tournaments including several matches for his home team.
Malik’s father, Abdul Rashid, expressed his happiness and a set of mixed emotions as he spoke to the media regarding his son’s entry into the team.
“He has made all of us proud with his performances in the IPL and the way the whole country rallied behind him, we as a family can only be thankful. Pura desh ke support mila mere Umran ko,” he said.
As Umran Malik and his family celebrate the achievement in different ways, the new player has received a lot of praise from other cricketers for his IPL performance.
Now, what Umran has to bring to the field at the big tournament is something the team and the fans of the sport will be looking forward to.
