Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma embraced parenthood on January 11, 2021, as they were blessed with a baby girl.
In a social media message, Virat Kohli wrote, "We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon."
"We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives," he added.
"We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat,” he further wrote.

The star couple in August 2020 had announced that they are adding another member to the family.
In identical tweets, they had written, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021 ??.”
Right after the announcement was made, the PK star has been sharing her thoughts about this new journey in life.
Sharing a photo, in which she was seen flaunting her baby bump, Anushka wrote, “Nothing is more real & humbling than experiencing the creation of life in you. When this is not in your control then really what is?”
It may be mentioned that the star couple had married in 2017.
Virat Kohli played the first Test match at the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, in which he scored a well crafted 77 in the first innings.
The team, however, could play well in the second innings and the entire team was bundled out for a paltry 36.
Kohli left Australia after the match to be with wife Anushka during the birth of their first child.
