Young Indians Organizes Yi Youth Conclave 2020

Young Indians Guwahati Chapter organized its first Yi Youth Conclave 2020 in Guwahati on December 19 in a Guwahati hotel.

The event was organised in association with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong as the knowledge partner.

It was attended by Jishnu Barua, Chief Secretary of Assam, B Kalyan Chakravarty, Principal Secretary, Elementary & Secondary Education Department and MD, SSA and MD, RMSA, Government of Assam and other distinguished members.

Speaking at the event, Chair of Yi Guwahati Chapter Hemad Berlashker said, “Young Indians has over the years worked across several platforms with a wide range of individuals and groups, the youth, of course, being our focus group."

"Our endeavour has always been to uplift and encourage the youth and to make them realize how age does not matter to bring about change but it is their energy and passion that will keep us all going," he added.

The event hosted a series of sessions which were deliberated by industry experts.

Centre for Positive Psychology & Wellbeing – CPPW was also inaugurated at the event which aims to create awareness and promote strong mental health and psychological strengths among the youth.

Briefing about the event, Amrit Deorah, Event Chair, Yi Youth Conclave said, “Yi Youth Conclave 2020 is a platform for the youth to Converge, Lead, Co-create and Influence India’s Future bringing together all stakeholders- state government, Centre PSUs, corporate, local enterprises and start-ups, business & political leaders, thought leaders from India and abroad, authors, artists, change-makers, to understand, learn, contribute & exchange forward-looking ideas.”

Two online sessions were held at the event- Baijayant “Jay” Panda, BJP National Vice President and BJP in-charge of Assam and Delhi deliberated on Vision for the Youth of NE – Entrepreneurship and Politics, and another session was conducted by Sanjoy Mukherjee, Associate Professor, IIM Shillong on ‘Turbulence to Excellence: Inspirational Insights from Ancient Indian Wisdom.’

A session with Wanphrang K Diengdoh, Independent filmmaker from Meghalaya was also held on Opportunities in Filmmaking- Traditional and Contemporary.

A session on Emotional Maturity Post COVID-19 was held with Loya Agarwala, Managing Partner, Ucan Centre, Guwahati.
