A young boxer from Mizoram, Lalruatdika, died on November 16, 2025, Sunday, evening following a severe head injury sustained during the MBA Professional Boxing event at the LPS Arena on November 14, 2025.

The 20-year-old collapsed in the ring after an impact during a clash with his opponent caused his head to hit the floor.

According to organisers, he immediately lost consciousness and was rushed to Greenwood Hospital for emergency treatment.

Despite sustained medical efforts, he failed to regain consciousness and was pronounced dead at around 9:20 pm on November 16, 2025.

The untimely death of the promising athlete, well-regarded for his cheerful and friendly nature, has sent shockwaves through the sporting community and the wider public.

Tributes have poured in from fellow boxers, friends and sports enthusiasts across Mizoram, mourning the loss of a rising talent whose career had only just begun.
