When it comes to ideologies and politics, India and Pakistan are very staunch enemies but, if the case is that of pop culture, the love is seamless. There is a huge audience for Pakistani dramas in India.
Zindagi used to feature a lot of Pakistani shows. But, due to rising conflicts between the two countries, this was stopped.
Apart from Zindagi Gulzar Hai, other shows that were fan favourites in India were Humsafar, Kitni Girahein Baaki Hein, Mere Qatil, and Mere Humsafar. And all of these shows too had to leave the Indian screens just like other Pakistani pop-culture items.
Recently, Zee TV has decided to revive the Zindagi channel and bring back Zindagi Gulzar Hai and other shows.
Other than Zindagi Gulzar Hai, the other series that made a return to the Indian screens are Kitni Girhain Baaki, Auun Zara, Sadqay Tumhare and Mr and Mrs Shameem.
Other than fictional Pakistani shows, the channel will also feature Indian short films like Baarish And Chowmein, Tauba Tek Singh, Silvat, Saari Raat and others.
Zindagi went live at 7 pm on May 23, 2022.
