Man Kills Twin Daughters, Arrested

A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 11-year-old twin daughters at his residence in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, police said.

The accused, identified as Shashi Ranjan Mishra, is a medical representative. According to the police, he was taken into custody from the flat immediately after the incident.

The killings took place at Trimoorti Apartment in the Kidwai Nagar locality, which falls under the Naubasta police station area.

Mishra lived there with his wife, Reshma, originally from Siliguri in West Bengal, their twin daughters, and their six-year-old son.

Police said the children were found with fatal throat injuries inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon.

Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances and motive behind the incident.
