Over 20 hands-free hand sanitizing dispensers were provided to the Guwahati Police Commissioner’s office by Young Indians on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

The hand sanitizing dispensers were received by Police Commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta.

Lauding the contribution made by Yi, Gupta said, “I thank Young Indians for providing the hand sanitizing dispensers."

"These will immensely help our police personnel. I wish Young Indians all the best for their future endeavour," Gupta added.

“Our team is trying to contribute to the frontline fighters in the fight against COVID-19," said Hamad Berlashker, Chair Yi Guwahati Chapter.

"Apart from doctors and nurses and health workers of GMC, our police personnel have been dedicatedly fighting since Day 1 to ensure our safety," he added.

"This is a small contribution from our end to ensure that they are safe,” Berlashker further said.

Apart from Berlashker, the Young Indians team included Nitesh Todi, Chair- Accessibility and Amit Mour, Chair- Climate Change.

“The hand sanitizing dispensers will be installed at various police stations across Guwahati," informed Nitesh Todi.

"We feel humbled and glad at the Commissioner’s encouraging words for our team and hope we can be of help whenever required," he added.

It's worth mentioning here that Young Indians had also donated dry ration to over 200 persons with disabilities during the lockdown period.

Moreover, it also distributed face masks to GMC workers and the army personnel.
