Mizoram's William Lalnunfela, one of the latest signing of Jamshedpur FC, has set high ambitions with the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) outfit ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The striker from Mizoram shared his desire to top the league standings with Jamshedpur in a bid to qualify for the AFC Champions League and play in the continental competition.

"My first and foremost aim will be to contribute to the best of my abilities and help Jamshedpur FC top the league and win the Hero ISL," reported indiansuperlegue.com quoting the 25-year-old striker.

"I want to play the AFC Champions League with this club during my time here and I think the club is moving in the right direction to achieve it," Jamshedpur FC’s official website quoted him as saying.

"As a team, we have to and we will give our best shot," he added.

A major factor that attracted Lalnunfela to Jamshedpur was the chance to play with Hero ISL 2019-20’s Golden Boot winner Nerijus Valskis.

"I am definitely excited to work alongside Valskis. It would be amazing to share the dressing room with a player of his calibre," he further said.

"I haven’t met him, but I know what he can do and I am looking forward to learning from him," the Mizo footballer added.

Jamshedpur FC also announced the signing of Bhupender Singh with Lalnunfela.

Bhupender spent two years in the third division of Spanish football with Olímpic Xàtiva's U-19 team and he hopes to use that experience to help Jamshedpur.

"I believe I am very fortunate that I got that opportunity to learn football from a Spanish team’s point of view and going forward, I would try my best to abide by these lessons," he said.

Bhupender previously rubbed shoulders with many of Jamshedpur’s young stars such as Narender Gahlot and Amarjit Singh Kiyam during the FIFA U-17 World Cup preparatory camp, and he’s hopeful about helping the club grow with such talents in the squad.
