The Department of Textile and Handicrafts, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, will organise Arunachal Fashion Week 2026 – The Artisans’ Movement from March 14 to 21, 2026, at Interior Park in Naharlagun.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu will attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest on March 14, 2026.
The event will showcase indigenous textiles and contemporary fashion inspired by the traditional weaves of the state.
The opening evening will feature runway presentations, while March 15, 2026, has been designated as Cultural Heritage Day, highlighting collaborations between designers and local artisans.
From March 16 to 20, 2026, the venue will host exhibitions and sales of handloom and handicraft products, along with designer showcases and interactions between buyers and artisans.
The event will conclude on March 21, 2026, with the Arunachal Fashion Week Awards Night, which will honour achievements in categories such as Model of the Year, Best Fashion Designer, Best Weave Designer or Weaver, and Youth Excellence.
Textile and Handicrafts Minister Nyato Dukam said the state's textile heritage reflects the identity and craftsmanship of its indigenous communities.
"Arunachal Fashion Week provides a platform that connects tradition with innovation," he said.
Yana Ngoba Chakpu, founder of Northeast India Fashion Week – The Artisans’ Movement, said the event reflects the growing participation of young designers and professionals.
"This edition has been structured to ensure professional execution and meaningful public engagement," she said.
