Arunachal Pradesh health minister Alo Libang visited the Lower Dibang District Hospital in Roing, and inspected the COVID-19 isolation ward and dedicated covid healthcare centre.
Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, secretary (health) P Parthiban, Lower Dibang Valley deputy commissioner Mitali Namchoom and SP S K Sain accompanied the minister during his visit.
The minister along with the team also inspected the designated TrueNat machine installation room and the land of the district hospital for prospects of future up-gradation.
District Medical Officer Dr Radesh Tatan apprised the visiting team on the status of the availability of personal protective equipment, viral transport medium kits and other tools in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh East MP Tapir Gao announced an aid of Rs 1 lakh from his MPLAD fund to the Lower Dibang Valley district administration for its fight against COVID-19.
The announcement from Gao came during a meeting held at the circuit house in Roing.
The MP had on Wednesday announced that he would donate his MPLAD funds for procuring masks, sanitizers and other items for the people of all the districts under the eastern parliamentary constituency.
Meanwhile, five COVID-19 patients were discharged from the COVID Hospital at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The patients had tested negative twice in two consecutive reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests.
The patients were released with discharge certificates in a simple function held at the hospital.
In another case, the second COVID-19 patient of Lower Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh was also discharged on Thursday.
The patient had tested positive for coronavirus on June 13.
The patient was handed over his discharge slip by the district planning officer Marto Dirchi.
The medical team, who was looking after the patient, was also present when the discharged slip was handed over to the patient from the COVID care centre.
