Arunachal Scouts & Guides on Friday were asked to sensitize locals on the social issues by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra.
"Sensitize people on social issues for promoting amity and goodwill in the society," Brig (Retd) BD Mishra said.
The Governor was speaking at the Bharat Scouts & Guides Rajya Puraskar, a ceremony which was a part of 20th Arunachal Pradesh State Rajya Puraskar.
The ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar.
Overall 30 scouts and 19 guides from different schools of the state were felicitated by the Governor.
Congratulating the Arunachal Scouts & Guides awardees, the Governor exhorted them to work hard to excel in life.
"Work hard and be determined if you want to excel in life," the Governor said.
"Here, I must congratulate the trainers and officials for guiding the students with such dedication," he said.
The Governor further said that the Bharat Scouts & Guides is an organisation that helps in capacity building and enhance students' potential.
"I hope the commendable work of the Arunachal Scouts & Guides will scale a different height in the future," he said.
"And I am hopeful it will continue to have a positive impact on the growth and development of the Arunachalee youths," added the Governor.
The Governor also reminded the students of the scouts and guides laws and urged them to actively participate in cleanliness works and offer tuition to the children from weaker section of the society.
"Moreover, impart first aid training to other students, volunteer for social service and blood donation camps and always strive to protect the flora and fauna," the Governor further said.
"Whatever you do, do with the spirit of transparency, accountability and honesty," he further said.
"A society will progress only then when these values are instilled amongst the young children," he added.
The Arunachal Scouts & Guides later also presented programmes depicting the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and national integration.
