Bhupesh Baghel: Grand Alliance Will Form Government In Assam

March 20, 2021

The Congress-led grand alliance will form the government in Assam this year, claimed Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Bhupesh Baghel, who is the Congress observer for the election in Assam, was speaking at an election rally in Dibrugarh recently.

"The grand alliance will win over 100 seats and form a strong government," he asserted.

He also alleged that an anti-incumbency wave is blowing against the BJP in Assam and that the party is also battling through internal conflicts.

"The BJP in Assam is battling an internal conflict and so it has not been able to name its chief ministerial candidate," Baghel said.

"People in Assam has realised that BJP is a party of lies and there is a vast difference in what they say and what they implement. It said it would control the price rise, but the reality is there for all to see," he said.

"People are suffering in the state and the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government has failed in all fronts," Baghel said.

He further alleged that the "syndicate raj" has mushroomed in the state under the Sonowal government.

"The government is indulging in coal syndicate, among the major syndicates," Baghel further alleged.

"The government that pledged to protect the land and identity of the people of the state, has forcefully implemented the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Assam. If voted to power, we will roll back this anti-Assamese Act," he further said.

The Congress star campaigner also said that the BJP-led Assam government has failed to create jobs and under its rule, the percentage of unemployed youths have only gone up.
