COVID-19 recovery rate in Tripura improves

COVID-19: Assam To Discontinue Mandatory Testing At Airports, Railway Stations, Bus Routes

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to decline in the state, Assam government has decided to discontinue the mandatory testing at railway stations, airports, and land routes from March 1.

This was announced by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 10 and added that people would adhere to appropriate COVID-19 behaviour and follow the protocols

In a tweet, Sarma said, "In view of rapidly declining cases of #COVID19 & given that vaccination is in full swing, GoA has decided to discontinue mandatory testing at rly stations, land routes & airports from March 1, 2021."

"It's expected however that people would adhere to #Covid appropriate behaviour," he added.

Till the filing of this report, Assam has recorded a total of 215510 confirmed COVID-19 cases, out of which 3525 cases are active.

A total of 210962 people have recovered from the infection and 1020 people have succumbed to it and three patients have migrated out of the state.
