PM Modi To Hoist Saffron Flag At Ram Temple

Devotees Gather In Ayodhya As PM Modi To Hoist Saffron Flag At Ram Temple

November 25, 2025

Ayodhya saw a large number of devotees arriving on November 25, 2025, Tuesday morning, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hoist a saffron flag at the Ram temple to mark the completion of its construction.

Chants of "Jai Shri Ram" were heard across the city from early morning. Pilgrims and seers said the Dhwaj Arohan ceremony was a moment they had waited for over many years.

Swami Narottamanand Giri from Rae Bareli said the event was a result of long efforts. Ninety-five-year-old Devendranand Giri said he was glad to witness the temple completed in his lifetime.

Ram Mandir Trust invitee Gopal Rao said Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will take part in the rituals.

The prime minister is expected to reach the temple at 10am and stay till around 1.30pm for prayers, the flag hoisting and a public address.

Rao said public darshan may restart on November 25, 2025, evening or by November 26, 2025, morning.

Inside the temple, priests have been performing rituals for the past four days. Priest Bajrang Pandey said the final stage of the yagya was under way and would continue after the prime minister's programme. Scholars from several states are also present.

Security has been stepped up in the city. Officials said 6,970 personnel, including ATS commandos and NSG snipers, are deployed. Anti-drone systems and surveillance teams are active, and checks are being carried out at key points.

The saffron flag to be hoisted is 10 feet high and 20 feet long. It carries symbols related to Lord Ram and will be placed on a shikhar built in the Nagara style.

The ceremony falls on Panchami of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha, which also marks Vivah Panchami. The day is also the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, who is believed to have meditated in Ayodhya.

Modi will also offer prayers at the Garbh Grah and visit nearby shrines in the temple complex. The temple features carved stone scenes from the Valmiki Ramayana and bronze artwork linked to Indian traditions.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed arrangements on Monday and directed officials to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
