India produced a dominant all-round performance at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati to defeat New Zealand in the third Twenty20 International and secure an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series.
Batting first, New Zealand posted 153 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman provided some resistance with scores of 48 and 32 respectively, but the visitors struggled to build sustained partnerships.
India’s bowlers maintained tight control throughout the innings, with Jasprit Bumrah leading the attack with figures of 3 for 17.
In reply, India delivered a stunning batting display, reaching the target in just 10 overs.
Opener Abhishek Sharma set the tone with a blistering 68 off 20 deliveries, dismantling the New Zealand bowling from the outset.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav added a composed 57 not out to guide the chase.
The hosts crossed the finish line with eight wickets in hand and 60 balls to spare, underlining their superiority in the contest.
The emphatic victory reflected India’s growing confidence and depth, as well as their strong preparation ahead of major international tournaments.
The remaining matches in the series will offer New Zealand an opportunity to regain pride, while India will look to maintain their momentum and continue their impressive run of form.
