In a standout moment of the Shpageeza Cricket League, veteran Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi found himself in an emotional face-off against his own son, Hassan Eisakhil, during Match 8 between Amo Region and Mis Ainak Region.
The rare generational encounter captured the imagination of cricket fans across the country.
Eisakhil, just 18 years old and representing the Amo Sharks, struck a stunning six off Mohammad Nabi, scoring 12 runs in the over with partner Shahidullah.
The dominant display led to Nabi being removed from the bowling attack, making the moment both symbolic and historic.
The young batter went on to top-score for his side, hitting 52 runs off 36 deliveries at a strike rate of 144.44.
His confident innings helped Amo Sharks reach a total of 162 before being bowled out in 19.4 overs.
However, the team crumbled in the final two overs, losing five wickets while adding just six runs.
Mis Ainak Region’s bowling unit played a key role in the collapse, with Naveed Zadran taking four wickets, Khalil Gurbaz claiming three, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman adding two to the tally.
During the chase, Mis Ainak Region responded with an aggressive start, reaching 105 for 1 in just 8.2 overs.
Needing only 58 runs from the remaining 70 balls, Wafullah Stanikzai Tarakhil blazed a quickfire 49 off 21 balls, while Khalid Taniwal remained unbeaten on 42 from 21.
Captain Rahmanullah Gurbaz supported from the other end to steer the innings.
While the match delivered high-octane action, the emotional highlight remained the father-son duel—Mohammad Nabi bowling to his son on a professional stage, marking a unique and touching chapter in Afghan cricket.
