It may be mentioned here that Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to reach Silchar and interact with women during the last few hours of the campaign trail for the second phase of Assembly elections.
However, bad weather and spells of rain did not allow his aircraft to land at the airport and it had to be diverted to Guwahati.
Silchar goes to poll on April 1 along with 37 other assembly constituencies.
The third and final phase of the Assam election will be held on April 6 and results will be declared on May 2.
