Oriental Bistro Distributes Food Packets To Needy In Guwahati, Also Helps On-Duty Policemen

June 2, 2021

Oriental Bistro, one of the most popular restaurants in Guwahati, has been continuously helping the needy amid the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown in the city since 2020.

The popular restaurant served 200 food packets to the underprivileged sections of the society on May 27 while also helping them understand the need for maintaining basic hygiene during the pandemic.

On May 31, Oriental Bistro distributed 200 refreshment packets with water bottles to the on-duty traffic, police & paramilitary personnel who were continuously serving the people throughout the pandemic.

Appreciating the initiative, ACP Dispur Himanghsu Das said, “I am happy that people understand our hardship and are coming forward to help. We appreciate this gesture by Oriental Bistro.”

“This is a small token of gratitude towards the traffic, police and other paramilitary personnel who without any complaint stand guard for us. Wish we could do more during this time of crisis,” said restaurant manager Rajat Pal.

Earlier on May 23, the restaurant, located at Lachit Nagar in Guwahati, distributed more than 320 lunch packets to delivery associates of Swiggy and Zomato.

We feel proud telling the story of Oriental Bistro. We are bringing this story because we want others to follow. Everyone who can help should come forward so that we bring a very positive change in the life of those who are struggling. Through collective efforts, we will sail through this tough period,” said Vikash Singh, co-founder at Life’s Purple.

Oriental Bistro added that they will continue to distribute food to the needy.

“Through these initiatives, we want to urge everyone who is able to help the needy to come forward. With our limited capacity, we have been doing our bit to serve the people, be it during the long queues during demonetization or donating to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during the floods. We hope many more people will come forward,” the restaurant said.
