Ratnakar- an Assamese movie starring Jatin Bora, Nishita Goswami, and Barsha Rani Bishaya in the leads is set to hit the silver screen in Assam on Friday.
‘Ratnakar’ is actor Jatin Bora’s second directorial venture after ‘Adhinayak’ and is touted to be the biggest film of the year after Kanchanjangha.
On the final day of promotion on Thursday, the team Ratnakar appealed each and everyone to visit the theatres and watch the movie.
The movie will be released in selected theatres in Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru apart from Assam where it will have 176 screenings a day.
The trailer of the movie has already created a buzz among the cine-goers.
Two songs from ‘Ratnakar’-‘Rati Rat’ and ‘Eta Kotha Kowa Na’ have already become popular among the people and Youtube views for both the songs have crossed 6.1 million and 5.9 million respectively.
Kanchanjangha, which was released earlier this year, has already gone on to become the biggest Assamese blockbuster ever minting over Rs 5.6 crores so far.
Appealing the Assamese cine-goers, team Ratnakar on Thursday took out a motorbike rally from Kamakhya gate to Chandmari where 250 bikers participated.
Apart from the three leads, the movie has an ensemble cast featuring veterans like Bishnu Kharghoriya, Chetana das, Sanjeev Hazarika, and Hiranya Deka.
Zubeen Garg has composed the songs for the movie and popular dramatist Abhijeet Bhattacharya has written the story and script of the movie.
Those associated with the movie are expecting ‘Ratnakar’ to strike a chord with the audience and give ‘Kanchanjangha’ a stiff competition.
"I am a big fan of Jatin Bora and I am going to watch Ratnakar first day, first show," said Rahul Das, a film enthusiast, while speaking to The Story Mug.
"We should go and watch Assamese movies, irrespective of the genre," he added.
