Young Indians Guwahati Chapter Launches Inspiring Video For Lovlina Borgohain And India’s Tokyo Olympics Contingent

Young Indians Guwahati Chapter, the youth arm of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), on July 23 virtually launched a short video to congratulate and cheer the Indian contingent and Assam’s Lovlina Borgohain at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Speaking about the initiative, Amrit Deorah, Co-chair, Yi Guwahati Chapter said, “We have the largest Indian contingent of athletes competing this year at the Olympics and we are proud that Assam too will be representing the country."

"This short video by Yi is to give a boost to our team and to support their journey throughout the Olympics," he added.

“The one minute and seven seconds video feature young state and national level boxers from the region celebrating the participation of Indian athletes at the Olympics," said MAR Hamad Berlashker, past chair of Yi Guwahati Chapter.

"The video has been conceptualised, shot and directed in Guwahati to inspire the children and youth to be passionate about the Olympics,” Berlashker added.

Mehtaj Zaman Ahmed, Co-Chair, Branding, Young Indians said, “It feels great to support Lovlina, the first woman from Assam to represent India at the Olympics."

"All our athletes have trained hard to deserve a place at the Olympics and they will fight it out with grit and determination to earn medals for the 1.3 billion citizens of India," Zaman added.

Abhijit Barooah, Chairman, North-Eastern region, CII participated in the program and applauded the effort of the team.

Debajit Chaliha, Past Chair, Yi Guwahati Chapter and MD, Korangani Tea also participated in the virtual launch.

Young Indians Guwahati Chapter which comprises young entrepreneurs of the city have always been at the forefront to encourage the youth and to help other potential entrepreneurs.

They also conduct several activities, workshops, seminars, social campaigns etc., from time to time as part of extending service to the society at large.

It may be mentioned here that 24-year-old Lovlina Borgohain is two matches away from Olympics glory and she will face Germany's Nadine Apetz in her opening clash in the pre-quarterfinal on July 27.
