Even though Tripura has witnessed an increase in the COVID-19 cases, the state, however, has witnessed a positive trend as far as recoveries are concerned.
With a recovery rate of 80.62 per cent, a total of 1,019 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Tripura so far.
The state's recovery rate, in fact, is far better than the national average which is of 54 per cent.
The BJP-ruled state of the northeast, in fact, is among the top states of the country in terms of testing swab samples.
So far, Tripura has carried out an average of 14,757 tests per million population and the Tripura Health Department so far has tested 60,135 swab samples, of which 1,296 have been found to be positive.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Friday said that 36 new positive cases were reported in the state in five districts.
In a tweet, the CM said, "Out of 1021 samples tested for COVID-19, 36 people found #POSITIVE. Among them, 34 people have travel history & 2 are contacts of COVID-19 patients."

He further informed that of the new cases, 15 are from Gomati district, 14 from South Tripura, three each from West Tripura and Sepahijala and one from Dhalai district.
On the other hand, a total of 36 patients were further released from various hospitals on Friday.
In a tweet, CM Biplab Deb said, "Delighted to share that 36 COVID-19 patients have been discharged today from various District Covid Care Centers after their test results came NEGATIVE."

"I pray for the speedy recovery of all the COVID-19 patients," Deb further added in the tweet.
Tripura so far has tested 60,200 samples for COVID-19, of which 1,331 patients have tested positive.
One person has succumbed to the infection and six COVID-19 patients have migrated out of the state so far.
Majority of the positive cases in Tripura were initially among the BSF personnel and their family members.
