Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi is confident that regional parties will storm into power in Assam this year.
Taking part in an election rally in Nalbari, Gogoi said that BJP has threatened the linguistic and cultural identity of Assam by deciding to implement CAA.
He was campaigning at the Kaithalkuchi area in the Dahrmapur assembly constituency for AJP candidate Dr Sikhar Kumar Sharma.

He urged the people to vote for Sarma so that anti-Assamese forces are ousted from the state.
He also criticised Chandra Mohan Patowary, state industry minister and BJP candidate from the constituency.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the former president of All Assam Students' Union (AASU), was taking part in the rally barely four days after his mother's demise.
"When your motherland is in danger and it is about the pride of your motherland, one has to set aside one's personal pain," he further said.
