Wax Statue Of Sushant Singh Rajput Unveiled In West Bengal

Sukanto Roy, a West Bengal sculptor, has carved a wax statue in memory of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput who died by suicide in June.

The wax statue of the Kai Po Che! star is seen dressed in a white tee and black track pants, paired with a denim jacket, apart from bearing Sushant's infectious smile.

Speaking to newsmen Sukanto Roy spoke about his immense fondness for the actor and said his untimely passing away made him sad.

"I have made this statue for my own museum, but if his family requests for the statue then I will make a new one from them," he told the media.

Fans of the late actor were extremely delighted to see the wax statue of their favourite star.

This is not for the first time that Sukanto Roy has created a statue of a Bollywood star,

In the past, Roy has carved out statues of several other Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan.

Roy had also made a wax statue of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli for his museum.

It may be mentioned here that petitions requesting a wax statue of the late actor at Madame Tussauds have been made signed by several of Sushant's fans.

A fan named Basundhara Ghosh started a petition on the online website change.org calling for a wax statue of Sushant's to be installed at London’s iconic wax museum.

The petition has amassed more than 50,000 signatures.

Sushant Singh Rajput began his acting career in Ekta Kapoor’s television serials, where he made a name for himself.

He made his Hindi cinema debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che! in 2013.

He went on to act in several successful movies since then such as MSD: The Untold Story and Chhichhore.

His last movie, Dil Bechara, released on July 24 this year.
