Nagen Deka, the Nalbari assembly candidate of Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), is confident of victory and claimed he would get over 80,000 votes.
Speaking to the media at the party's Nalbari office, Deka said that people in the constituency has shown faith in Assam Jatiya Parishad and they believe that the party would work diligently for the development of the constituency.
It may be mentioned here that Deka in the last three months has visited over 33,000 households in the constituency seeking votes and has been able to convince 44,000 people to join the party.

A social and cultural activist, Deka has been associated with several cultural and social work in the constituency and he strongly believes that his association with Hari Mandir and the Nalbari Raas Mahotsav has only added to his popularity.
"The general public is facing the brunt of BJP's wrong policies and the party has failed to control the price hike. It collects money from the cement companies and due to this cement price has skyrocketed in the state," Deka said.
He also criticised the government for supporting the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and said, "Assam and the Assamese identity will be threatened once CAA is implemented."
"If Assam Jatiya Parishad comes to power in the state, we won't allow the implementation of CAA in the state," he further said.
