Charan Boro, the MLA of Mazbat constituency in Assam laid the foundation stones for three projects in Udalguri district on January 17, 2021.
Boro, who is also the adviser of the Udalguri district Gudi Bathou Afad, laid the foundation stone of visitor’s restrooms at Bathou Kheraisali, Kanthalguri in Udalguri district.
The project is to be completed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

The committee members of the district organization were also present on the occasion.
Emphasising on the importance of Bathou traditions in the Bodo community, the Boro assured to the locals present in the foundation laying ceremony that a heritage Bathou mandir will be built in the present site.

Boro also laid the foundation stone for a link road to the Bathou Kheraisali, Kanthalguri later on the day.
An amount of Rs 1.3 crore has been earmarked for the road connectivity.
Both the projects are to be completed under the Assam Darshan Scheme.
Meanwhile, in another programme, the Assam MLA also laid the foundation stone for a boundary wall of the Bathou mandir at No 1 Gorhmara, Kajiamati in Udalguri district under MLALAD fund.
In the same programme, he also installed the ‘Lai Khuta’ for the two-day Gudi Bathou Annual conference to held on January 27 and 28.

He is also the reception committee chairman of the annual conference.
