Chanda Mama Door Ke, a Bollywood film based on space which was to star Sushant Singh Rajput, will be revived, confirmed director Sanjay Puran Singh.
Chanda Mama Door Ke was announced in 2017 and had it had Sushant Singh Rajput essaying the role of an astronaut.
However, owing to multiple delays, the late actor left the project in 2018.
However, director Singh has now expressed his wish to revive the film as a tribute to the Kai Po Che actor.
In a recent interview to Mid-Day Singh said that the film has not been shelved and he will translate it into the big screen.
"The film is not shelved. I hope I will be able to translate on-screen what I have visualised in my head and put on paper. That said, I am not reviving it right away as it has not been even a year to Sushant’s passing; his loss has been emotionally exhausting,” reported The Indian Express quoting his interview to Mid-Day.
Singh further informed that Sushant Singh Rajput was attached to the film emotionally and the making of the film will be a tribute to the late actor.
“Whenever I make the film, it will be a tribute to Sushant. He was so attached to the script that I owe this to him. He had given a lot of inputs to the material,” The Indian Express report added quoting Singh.

Singh further said that even though he plans to go ahead with the film, but it was hard for him to find an actor to replace then deceased actor.

Singh said he will rework with the script of the film.
Apart from the late actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan were also to feature in Chanda Mama Door Ke.
However, it remains to be seen if the two actors will still be a part of the film or not once Sanjay Puran Singh finishes reworking with the script.
