Congress has betrayed every community while NDA has worked for all communities in Assam, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister was addressing an election rally in Kokrajhar on April 1.

"We intend to protect and promote the cultures and languages of all communities," the prime minister further added.

"Congress' long rule choked Assam with bombs and blockades while NDA has brought peace here," Modi further said.

"Atal Ji's govt formed the BTC and now our government has signed the historic Bodo Peace Accord," he added.

"Peace, progress and protection is our mantra," the Prime Minister stressed.

Lashing out further at the Congress, the Prime Minister said, "Congress has surrendered our namghars, sattras to illegal encroachers and held back the development of the people."

"NDA has united everyone in Assam and brought development for all," he added.

"The Mahajot has insulted our state symbol- the Gamusa that we wear with pride. It clearly shows their anti-Assamese agenda. The people of Assam will never forgive them," PM Modi said.

"This is an election between the maha jhooth of Mahajot and maha vikas of Double Engine," the Prime Minister further added.

It may be mentioned here the second phase of the 2021 general elections to the Assam Legislative Assembly took place on April 1 in 39 constituencies.

The third and final phase of the Assam election 2021 will be held on April 6 in 40 constituencies.

Polling in Kokrajhar will take place on April 6.
