Video streaming giant YouTube has unveiled a new feature that would help parents to control what their kids watch on the platform.

This feature would help the parents to enable different content settings on the platform.

This new feature will give parents the ability to choose from Explore, Explore More and Most of YouTube.

It was further revealed by YouTube that the YouTube Kids app will now be available in Hindi and the rollout will begin in the next few days

"Over the last year, we've worked with parents and experts across the globe in areas related to child safety, child development, and digital literacy to develop a solution for parents of pre-teens and teens," James Beser, Director of Product Management, Kids and Family, YouTube, wrote in a blog post.

The blogpost further added that the beta version containing these new features will be made available in the coming few months.

The platform will be taking feedback from families with kids under the age of consent (age differs in countries worldwide).

Parents will be able to provide access to YouTube to their kids via a supervised Google account. So far, there is no word regarding a stable update with these new features.

With the coming of the new feature, parents from now on won’t just have control over what kind of content their kids watch.

With this new feature, the parents will also have access to their search history and have controls like screen timers.

YouTube further informed that that the company will also introduce ‘blocking content’ feature to parental controls.

In addition, at the time of the launch, kids won’t see personalised ads in order to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
