The capital city of India, Delhi, is a tourist hotspot known for its diverse art and monuments.

Delhi was ruled by various dynasties because of its strategic location.

The capital has significance for its commercial, transport and cultural hub. Earlier Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) was the capital of India, but the British government later changed it to Delhi.

For people who have a keen interest in historic architecture, for them, this grand old Indian city is the right place.

The city is full of various historic monuments and heritage sites, which one can visit according to his or her interest.

Qutb Minar, a UNESCO world heritage site is a historic monument popular for its architecture and its height. It is around 72 meters tall.

Another historic heritage to visit in the city is Red Fort.

It is significant for its architectural features consisting of stones, ornaments, and engravings on the wall. It catches major attention during Independence Day celebrations when the Indian prime minister hoists the national flag at the fort.

The Banjara Market is a popular market known for its furniture, handicrafts, and interior décor. It is seen as the favourite spot of people who love to shop.

Delhi also consists of the biggest spice market in Asia. This market is located at Khari Baoli. It is difficult to pass through that market without having the aroma of spices.
