Let us celebrate World Food Day, 2019, by being a #zoMEto and share a meal with someone who can't afford one.

#zoMEto is an initiative by ARTH Art for Humanity, that appeals people to turn into food delivery person on the occasion of World Food Day, on Wednesday, October 16.

October 16 every year is observed as World Food Day, and this year, the Delhi-based NGO has come forward with this unique concept of sharing a meal.

"The campaign is targeted at the youth who orders food online to become a delivery person for one day," added Rittyz Kashyap, co-founder of ARTH, while speaking to The Story Mug.

"We are requesting them to serve a meal to those who don’t have the luxury to afford or order for anything they would love to eat, at their will," he added.

"The concept and idea have been developed by the entire team of ARTH," he further said.

#zoMEto is a simple voluntary act through which one can inspire, as well as nominate friends who would love to deliver love for a day.

"Starting tomorrow, we hope to continue with this programme with the help of people who relate to the cause," he added.

World Food Day is celebrated in honour of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945.

It is celebrated widely by various organisations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

World Food Day was established by the FAO member countries at FAO’s 20th general conference in November 1979.

Since then it has been observed every year in over 150 countries.

The prime aim of celebrating this day is to raise awareness of the issues behind poverty and hunger.

So, on Wednesday don’t hesitate to become a food delivery guy for someone who doesn’t enjoy the luxuries that you do.
