If the grand alliance aka mahajoth is voted to power, then it will fulfil Congress' five guarantees- mentioned in its election manifesto.
This was said by former All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi during an interaction with Pratidin Time.
"We have carried out experiments in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and we have delivered on each of the pre-poll promises that we had made in these states," he said.
"And if the grand alliance is voted to power in Assam, we will deliver these five poll promises," he said.
"These are not mere promises but five guarantees that we promise to deliver," he asserted.
"People have seen how the BJP government in Assam has tricked and lied to them and the promises they made in 2016 before the election, have remained as promises even today," he added.
"Did the government give employment to 25 lakh youths in the last five years which they promised they would in 2026?" the Congress leader questioned.
"People in Assam have lost their faith in the BJP-led NDA government as it has cheated the people of the state on every front," he asserted.
"On the contrary, we will fulfil the five guarantees that we have promised immediately we are voted to power," Gandhi reiterated.
"We have not promised a lot and we have not made any fairytale promises. What we have promised is that we will solve the burning issues with which the state is currently battling," the Wayanad MP further added.
"The five guarantees that we have been talking about has been zeroed in after a lot of discussions with people from various sections of the state," he said.
"We are not talking about the impossible and the improbable things. No government can work against its budget and so we have not said of providing 25 lakh jobs, which is impossible. We can, however, provide five lakh jobs and so we have guaranteed to provide it," he added.
"We will implement our five guarantees and this is an assurance," Gandhi reiterated.
