Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited recently contributed Rs 1.5 crore towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam giving a major push to the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the state.
Representatives from the company comprising the regional manufacturing head of northeast Padmanav Chakraborty, and regional corporate affairs head of the northeast Lok Nath Mishra, handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.50 Crores to Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking on the contribution, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) MD & CEO Mahendra Singhi, said, “With the advent of the second wave of COVID-19 across the country, it has impacted all of us deeply."
"We, at Dalmia Cement, as a responsible corporate has come forward to make a humble contribution of Rs. 1.5 crores, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam for speeding up the COVID-19 Vaccination drive for the people of Assam, for their good health and safety," he added.
"I would also like to applaud the efforts and steps taken by the state government of Assam to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and contain the spread of COVID-19," he further said.
Earlier, the company had pledged their commitment to installing an Oxygen Generation Plant of 30 Mtr Cube/ per Hr capacity at the Hojai Government Hospital, and aim to install it by July 2021.
This initiative shall provide medical support to the people of Hojai District and to the nearby areas of Umrangsho and Hamren.
