Life is not always fair, is it? The untimely and unfortunate demise of the legendary Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan on April 29, 2020 (Wednesday) has only added to the gloom and dismay that have engulfed the world ever since the beginning of this year.

However, we live in an age where we do not have the time to lament over the death of a celebrity; our hectic schedules yield us little time to even empathise with the worldly affairs.

Why has the death of Irrfan Khan then suddenly sent a wave of grief across the world? It's because we could relate to him, to the roles he played with such elegant simplicity.

His absence will be felt not just in the film community but in our day to day lives for he gave us the confidence to believe is ourselves.

Irrfan Khan denounced the hereditary nature of success: he proved that with enough perseverance and dedication, no dream is unachievable.

I don't want to talk about his films today; that we can save for a later date. I just want all of us to reminisce about him, to cherish the beautiful performances he delivered, to savour the unforgettable lines he enunciated, preserve the beautiful memories he gave us.

Sir, you will be missed. Your demise has left a permanent void in our hearts as well as the film community. RIP legend (1967-2020)
